# Reading list

> MedWell Med Spa reading list — The MedWell Med Spa reading list gathers the semaglutide reports behind its essays on symptoms, cardiovascular events, kidney outcomes and safety.

**The reports**

Symptoms, events and adverse findings occupy the same shelf here. Their differences make the collection interesting.

## Adolescent BMI and adult weight

The [adolescent trial](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36322838/) supplies the opening BMI result in adolescents with obesity. The [heart-failure report](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37622681/) concerns a different setting: a study in people with obesity-related heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, with an improvement in the KCCQ symptom and physical-limitation score. Beside it, [STEP 1](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33567185/) supplies the weight comparison in adults with overweight or obesity without diabetes.

## Clinical event trials

[SELECT](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37952131/) concerns cardiovascular events in adults with established cardiovascular disease and overweight or obesity without diabetes. [SUSTAIN-6](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27633186/) concerns people with type 2 diabetes at high cardiovascular risk and includes the diabetic-retinopathy complication finding. [FLOW](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38785209/) adds the kidney composite in people with type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease.

## Safety assessment

The [semaglutide safety review](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34305810/) supplies the gastrointestinal and biliary findings discussed here, as well as the unresolved pancreatic and thyroid-cancer signals. It is a review of clinical-trial and pharmacovigilance data; the other reports in this collection are individual trials.
