If an argument rests on a mistaken population or outcome, I want it corrected.

A correction's essential details

A factual correction needs a place to begin: the page address, the exact sentence and the passage in the research report that conflicts with it. The reading list identifies the reports discussed here.

Errors that change whose result is being described concern me most. A diabetes population, a heart-failure population and a broader weight-management population cannot trade places inside an appealing claim. An outcome also needs to stay attached to its own comparison.

Disagreement with an opinion is welcome in principle, but a factual discrepancy is the most useful thing to pin down first. Personal medical details add nothing to that task and have no place in a correction about the published record.

Health questions

Medical questions belong with a qualified healthcare professional who can consider the person asking them. The about page explains the scope of this publication; its essays cannot supply an individual treatment decision.
